Well hello there! We’d like to introduce you to Found. But first and foremost, what questions can we answer for you? Because we know that you’ve probably slogged through a lot of diets that didn’t work, and we’d like to share how our program is different.
Found is a comprehensive, medically-supported weight care program that offers prescription medications depending on your unique biology. We also give you access to a virtual team of medical experts and health coaches, plus an app where you can track lifestyle changes and be a part of a supportive community. Found makes weight loss accessible and affordable, all from the comfort of your home. So if you’re ready for sustainable weight loss, here are some answers to the most popular Qs we get.
A. Nope. Found isn’t about counting calories and fad diets—instead, we encourage eating whole foods, practicing mindful eating, and focusing on portion control. We know, based on a strong body of research, that weight is more than calories in, calories out; rather, it’s largely based on biology and other factors like sleep and stress. You can check out our Found plate guide for more information on creating balanced meals to support your weight-care journey.
A. Generic medications are covered by the Found membership fee, and you’ll have access to medical experts if you have any questions along your journey. With Found, there are no extra doctor fees or worries about insurance coverage for generic medications*–and, they are conveniently shipped straight to your door.
A. Every person is unique, and our board-certified providers will tailor a plan specifically for you. Once you reach your goal weight, you can talk to your provider about whether you should continue the medication. Our program is designed to help you achieve sustainable weight loss by combining medication, lifestyle change, and support. Members receiving medication plus behavior change support from Found lost at least 13% more weight, and in some cases up to 229% more, compared to people receiving the same medication in clinical studies.
A. All medications that Found offers are FDA-approved for at least one purpose, but may not be specifically approved for weight loss. This is called off-label prescribing, a common practice by clinicians across the country where—based on solid evidence—doctors can prescribe an FDA-approved drug at different doses or for other reasons than what the drug is approved to treat. When prescribing medications, Found providers consider both the benefits and known risks while working with patients to meet their individualized needs. And based on the latest evidence-based recommendations by the American Board of Obesity Management, off-label medications are important tools to treat overweight and obesity.
A. On average, Found members lose 10 percent of their body weight during their first 12 months on the program. And a study looking at long-term treatment of obesity using weight loss medications among 428 participants with obesity found that weight-loss medications led to a sustainable weight loss of more than 10 percent beyond four years, according to results published in 2023 in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. Note it may vary depending on your unique biology and personal journey and that what works for one person may not be the best fit for another person. But we’re always here for you and can adjust your plan, so you meet your goals. Get started by taking our quick personal health quiz today.
*GLP-1 Note: Found is not currently prescribing GLP-1 medications for weight loss, but we are considering it as a part of our strategy to help members meet their weight-loss goals in the future.
