Weight loss success: Colleen’s lost 250 pounds!
Colleen Tate used to weigh 435 pounds. The last time she shared her story, she’d lost 75 pounds. Today, it’s 250! Here’s how she reached her healthy weight.
With the help of my coach and the Found community, I was able to lose 62 pounds and find the clarity I needed to live a more fulfilling life.
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent years caring for others. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing—it’s just that you forgot about yourself along the way. You’re likely reading this with doubts about whether you could be on the other side of this story. Well, I am here to tell you that with consistency, confidence, and the right support, you can and will succeed.
My aha! moment
After years of working as a police officer and now as a business owner, I found myself and my days overrun with stress and negative situations. I was vastly out of touch with my emotions. So instead of looking to others for acceptance as I once had, I started turning to food. Within five years, I had gained around 80 pounds.
To be honest, I didn’t recognize myself anymore. Photography, a hobby I loved, was no longer a part of my life due to the crippling pain of plantar fasciitis and a lack of confidence in how I looked that kept me from photographing myself.
I was tired of being overweight, in pain, and feeling embarrassed when I saw myself in photos. I often avoided posting to social media. But in August 2021, I decided it was time to start taking care of myself the same way I had for others—and to make some radical changes.
Then, after being disappointed with losing only 12 pounds over seven months on my own, I took the leap and joined Found. I figured if I was spending my hard-earned cash, I will be more likely to stick with it. Besides, when it came to previous dieting attempts, I’d left no stone unturned. What did I have to lose?
But let me tell you, it wasn’t the weight I lost (62 pounds, by the way!) that made this journey so amazing. It’s what I Found off of the scale along the way. And to my surprise, I didn’t need to diet—a sweet relief.
How my life has changed since I lost weight with Found
Instead of dragging myself out of bed, I wake up pain-free, with the energy I need to run a business, play with my granddaughter, and challenge myself in workouts.
I have confidence that I haven’t had in a very long time. Now I feel good from the inside out—I wear clothes I would’ve never thought to leave the house in and pose proudly in photos again. I have the confidence to push myself in workouts even if I stumble, something I would’ve been too embarrassed to do in the past.

Before this, I have to admit, I underestimated the power of support while on a weight-loss journey. But over time, I learned that it was crucial to mine.
This includes my coach, who encouraged me to get out and take photos and even took an interest in the images I captured, and the community of members from whom I learned countless tips, tricks, and recipes.
I began to realize there’s a lot more to my journey than the number on the scale. The more I focus on taking care of myself with nutrition, sleep, stress management, etc., I fill my cup so much that it begins to overflow into other areas of my life, ultimately leading to greater overall health.
What the future holds
Despite being extremely close to my goal weight, my victories off of the scale are my biggest motivators.
I may not know exactly what the future holds. Still, you’ll likely catch me running around with my granddaughter, hiking to find the best photo ops, and continuing to serve others, while remembering to serve myself, too!
